Tony Conrad

Tony Conrad (by canecapovolto) is not only a tribute to the great American artist, musician and filmmaker who died in 2016. It is above all an artistic research within his experimentation: the Sicilian group canecapovolto develops a research within the research, sounding out the experiences and proposals of an artist who has deeply marked contemporary history. It is not a question of tracing his biography, which is very rich, but of questioning the continuity that actions and visual and sound inspirations can have in time and space.  Each work by “Tony Conrad (by canecapovolto)” triggers a dialogue between experiences that unfold over the years, territories and thoughts, chasing and re-proposing themselves despite the times that have changed profoundly, especially in the light of the digital revolution.
